Step-by-step instructions:

Step 1: The best way to uninstall the VPN client is by running their uninstaller script.  You can find it by going to the folder /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin

Step 2: If you are unsure of how to get there, go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder... > type in /opt and you should see the cisco folder.

Step 3: In this folder you will find a file named anyconnect_uninstall.sh or vpn_uninstall.sh

Step 4: Open the Terminal app. Finder > Go > Utilities > Terminal or search Terminal in spotlight search

Step 5:  Type sudo

Step 6: Then drag one of the uninstaller files into the Terminal window, this will complete the pathway.

 For example,

sudo /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin/anyconnect_uninstall.sh

Step 7:  Press Enter, enter your password and it should run the uninstaller.
