When scheduling a meeting, the organizer can assign another licensed McMaster Zoom user to be the Alternative Host

Description:

1. Assigning an Alternative Host:
   - The meeting organizer assigns a licensed McMaster Zoom user as the Alternative Host during the scheduling process.

2. Starting the Meeting:
   - The Alternative Host starts the meeting using the join link provided in the email or calendar invitation sent by the original host.

3. Joining as Original Host:
   - If the original host joins the meeting after the Alternative Host has started it, they will be prompted with an option to:
     Reclaim host control of the meeting.
     - Allow the host controls to remain with the Alternative Host.

4. Control of the Meeting:
   - In case the original host reclaims the host control, the Alternative Host will be demoted to a participant role.

Step by step guide:

  1. Sign in at your licensed McMaster Zoom account
  2. Select Schedule a new meeting.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Advanced Options.
  4. In the Alternative Hosts field, enter the alternative name to search through users. You can also enter the alternative host's email address if their name doesn't come up. Private emails can be added.
  5. Click Schedule to confirm.

The alternative host will now receive an email letting them know that they have been added as an alternative host, unless they have disabled this email notification in their Zoom web portal.
