This guide provides information on printer support for McMaster employees, faculty, and staff.

Description:

Xerox Printers:

If you’re using a Xerox printer, the installation and connection support is provided by your local IT department.

For troubleshooting and any other assistance outside of connecting to the printer, Xerox printers are managed by PrintSmart. You can place a service request by:

  • Dialing the PrintSmart extension at 905 525 9140 x 22111 (there should be a sticker on the front of the printer that has Printsmart's contact information to place a service call - 22111)
  • Emailing mps@mcmaster.ca

Other McMaster Owned Printers:

Support for other McMaster owned printers is provided by your local IT department.

Personal Printers:

Unfortunately, we do not currently provide support for non-McMaster printers. If you’re using a personal printer, you will need to consult your user’s manual or contact the seller/manufacturer from whom you purchased the printer. However, if you are UTS supported department, UTS can assist with providing an IP address to get your printer onto the wired network.

Important note:

We strongly recommend that users utilize the campus printers, specifically the Xerox copiers. If a printer isn’t available in your area, please reach out to MPS for further inquiries.
